This glorious raptor is depicted in mid dive. The peregrine falcon is the fastest bird on earth. It flies at a grate altitude and when it spots its prey it folds its wings plunging towards earth at nearly 180 miles per hour!This was created using lost wax casting, a technique nearly 5000 thousand years old. It involves a wax pattern being made, pouring plaster of Paris over the wax and baking it in a furnace until the wax melts. This leaves a void in the plaster precisely the shape of the wax pattern. Metal is then poored into the plaster and allowed to cool. Finally the plaster is broken, exposing the pattern in metal. So it is true to say, "They broke the mold after making this."
